Day 1 Adelaide - Rawnsley Park

  • Depart Adelaide 0730hrs

  • Travel via, Clare, Melrose,Wilmington and Hawker

  • Visit historic Sevenhill Winery, Kanyaka ruin and more.

  • O/N Rawnsley Park

Day 2 Rawnsley Park – Lyndhurst

  • Travel via Wilpena Pound, Bunyeroo and Barchina Gorges,

  • Beltana, Copley and Lyndhurst

  • Visit Beltana historic Town and the famous

  • Quandong Cafe for an outback delight,

  • O/N Lyndhurst

Day 3 Lyndhurst – Mungarannie

  • Visit Talc Alf and Aboriginal Ochre pits

  • Stopping at places of interest along the way such the Mulka HS

  • Ruins, Clayton Station wetland, hot flowing artesian bores and

  • Wetlands and Mungerannie Roadhouse.

Day 4 Continue along the Birdsville Track to Birdsville

  • In Birdsville visit a museum, the Diamantina

  • River the Birdsville

  • Pub and other sites around town.

Day 5

  • Venture west to the eastern edge of the Simpson Desert and see Big Red

  • The largest of 1500 sand dunes encountered when doing the Desert
    Crossing.

Day 6 Birdsville – Nappa Merrie

    • Travel through remote areas of southern Queensland and

    • NE South Australia.

    • Visit Australia’s largest shearing shed.

    • Visit the Burke & Wills dig tree and see the famous Cooper Creek flowing through these remote desert areas

Day 7 Nappa Merrie - Innamincka

  • Travel through the Innamincka regional reserve to Coongie Lakes

  • Visit an outback oasis that becomes the breading ground for numerous species of water birds during a wet season.

Day 8 Innamincka

  • At Innamincka visit the restored Elizabeth

  • Symon Nursing Home a branch of John Flynn’s Australian Inland

  • Mission the birth of the Royal Flying Doctor service, Burke’s Grave, the town common and Cullyamurra Waterhole.

Day 9 Innamincka – Arkaroola

  • Drive down theStrzelecki Track made famous by Harry Redford who drove a 1000 stolen cattle south and sold them at the historic

  • Blanchewater Station. We pass by the Moomba

  • Gas fields and then onto Monte Collina artesian bore. Take a dip in the hot artesian water. Continue on past Mount

  • Hopeless to Arkaroola

  • O/N Arkaroola

Day 10 Arkaroola

  • Take the famous Rodgetop 4WD Tour and other drives around the
    area

  • O/N Arkaroola

Day 11 Arkaroola – Peterborough

  • Visiting Mt Chambers aboriginal art site,

  • Blinman copper mine and Peterborough a historic town on the Indian – Pacific Railway.
    View Sth Australia’s Great Wall of China, 500yr old Gum tree and experience 360o panoramas of the Flinders Ranges

  • O/N Peterborough.

Day 12 Peterborough – Adelaide

  • Travel via the Barrier Highway to Adelaide. Stop of at many historic railway towns of the Indian

  • Pacific line visit the historic copper mining town of Burra and meander through the Barossa
    Valley.

  • Return Adelaide approx 1800hrs
